THE PRACTICE TEAM
Apart from the seven doctors who
are partners at the practice we have one salaried GP. Other doctors are employed occasionally, particularly
during busy times or to cover illness or leave of one of the regular doctors.
We have a team of four sisters who provide a full triage/treatment room/specialist
clinic service. We have a specialist community nurse for our elderly patients.
We also have a healthcare assistant who carries out routine health checks which
we recommend all patients should attend once. There are two nurses who work on
medical records and a team of receptionists, most of whom work part time, and
it is they who answer all your queries over the phone and at the desk. They are
very busy people so do bear with them if it takes a while to find the answer to
your problem! Our practice manager is the administrator of the practice. She is
assisted by two office managers and a secretary. All our staff are there to give
you help in complete confidentiality.
ATTACHED STAFF
In addition to the staff who are
employed directly by the practice, there are district nurses and heath visitors, also invaluable
to our team, who are linked with the surgery.
The district nurses provide treatment
at home for those who are not well enough to attend surgery.
The health visitors are mainly involved
in the care of families with young children. Working with the doctors, they undertake
Child Health Surveillance, monitoring the health and development of your child
from birth to the age of five.
